Rewa, Ba To Clash In The Youth Final On Sunday

Ba and Rewa will clash in the youth final of the Fiji Sun-Skipper Tuna National Youth League on Sunday at Govind Park in Ba.

Fiji FA competition manager Amitesh Pal said Rewa and Ba have qualified after winning their respective zones.

“The youth league was played throughout the year with western teams Nadroga, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba with each other on a home and away basis and similar format was used in the South,

“We invited Nadi youth to participate as the best runner-up from the west to make the finals more interesting but Nadi opted to stay out,” said Pal.

The Delta Tigers Youth would have the services of Vodafone Fiji-20 reps Setareki Hughes,Ratu Tevita Waranaivalu and Gerish Prasad. Former U-20 striker Savenaca Nakalevu and district reps Benito Waqavou,Prasant Sharma and Akash Singh are eager to defend their title.

The Men-in Black would still be the favourite with the services of eight Vodafone Fiji U-20 reps likes of Misiwane Nairube, Shaneel Naidu Jnr, Narendra Rao, Praneel Naidu, Antonio Tuivuna, Ravnit Chand, Jonetani Buksh and Saula Waqa.

Rewa defeated Ba 4-1 last year at Saraswati Primary Manoca School Ground in Nausori. The winner will receive a prize purse of $4000 while the runner-up will receive $1500.

The match kicks off at 3pm.
