Northampton 23-19 Leicester

Flying Fijian wing Vereniki Goneva was unable to help Leicester despite two tries of his own after Northampton narrowly edged 23-19 in their Aviva Premiership clash last Saturday.

A penalty try and successful conversion by Owen Williams just put Leicester ahead at half-time 7-6 with two penalties from Stephen Myler to put Northampton on the scoreboard.

Goneva scored twice in the second half but it was three respective tries from Alex Waller, Ben Foden and Jamie Elliot that earned Northampton the 23-19 win, commendable for being achieved with only 14 men after Dylan Hartley was red carded.

Bath 39-16 Gloucester

In other matches, Semesa Rokoduguni’s Bath was victorious in their latest outing during their weekend Aviva Premiership clash against Gloucester winning with a convincing 39-16 margin.

Fly-half George Ford kicked three conversions and six penalties to give Bath a huge advantage with Matt Garvey scoring two tries to secure the victory.

Harlequins 15-7 Newcastle Falcons

Asaeli Tikoirotuma’s Harlequins’ earned a close victory over the Newcastle Falcons in their clash last Saturday after Tim Swiel kicked five penalties to scoop the victory 15-7, Samoan international Alesana Tuilagi’s score Juan Pablo Socino’s conversion gaining the Falcons 7 points.

Saracens 78-7 London Welsh

Meanwhile, Saracens thrashed London Welsh 78-7 with three tries to Richard Wigglesworth, two tries to Mako Vunipola and a try each to Brett Sharman, George Kruis, Chris Ashton, Jackson Wray, Richard Barrington and Ben Ransom. Elliot Kear scored the Welsh’s lone try with Will Robinson kicking the conversion.
