Tigers, Brothers Into Premier League

Punjabi Tigers and Covenant Brothers will join the Premier League when the Suva Cricket Competition resumes on January 3.

This was after both teams performed well during the final round of competition for 2014 last Saturday with the Tigers beating newcomers GMTM while Brothers defeated Moce One, respectively holding the number one and number two spots on the Group A points table.

Meanwhile, Ono-i-Lau and Sarafui will be relegated to Group A as the two bottom teams on the points table.

Suva Cricket Association Secretary Nisantha Fernando confirmed the changes which would be effective once round two resumed.

“Accordingly Punjabi Tigers and Covenant Brothers will be promoted into the Premier League while Ono-i-Lau and Sarafui will be relegated and will join Group A with the commencement of round two.”
