We thought of helping our parents shop this Christmas.

These were the words of two brothers Inoke Detevolu and Naibuka Tamanivalu while they were in a rush to sell Christmas balloons in Suva yesterday.

Detevolu, 14 said he wanted to make use of his school holidays.

“A businesswoman came home and asked my parents if we wanted to help her sell Christmas balloons and we loved the idea,” Detevolu said.

“My dad is the only bread-winner in the family, so we thought of doing this because this can help to cover for our family expenses and earning $10 a day is enough,”he said.

His younger brother Inoke also felt the same way.

“Christmas is a time for sharing and helping,”he said.
