Children at the St Christopher’s Home at Naulu, Nasinu, received an early Christmas surprise yestertday when Vodafone Fiji staff and local top local athletes paid them a Christmas visit.
Vodafone Fiji 7s overnight star, Seremaia Tuwai, veteran Rewa football defender Lorima Dau, sprint queen Sisilia Seavula and rugby league player Akapusi Voliti were part of the visit.
They presented three smartphone tablets , a router and connection to the home.

“Christmas is a time we spend with our families and it is sad to see these kids without their parents, but seeing the smiles on their faces today made my day,” Tuwai said.

“It is good to take time out of our busy schedule and training to just come down to this humble level and knowing that your presence brightens up the kids day is an overwhelming feeling.”

St Christopher’s Home Sister-in-charge Kalolaine Tuineau thanked veryone who had visited them before Christmas.

“These kids only hear and see star athletes in the media, but for them to be present here, is such a great joy, especially around Christmas time. The smartphones and router will be used by the senior girls and the children because of their homework and other school requirements. These equipment will help enhance their education.”

Dau said visiting the children jwas special.

“I wish everyone a merry Christmas and not forgeting these kids because there is something special in each of them.” Dau said.

The Vodafone Fiji staff members will be visiting the Boys Juvenile Centre today.
