It is that time of the year again when families get together to share the joys and love of the Christmas season.

Fourteen-year-old Angiee Olea from Honiara in the Solomon Islands is here in Fiji for the first time with her family for Christmas.

She was among the locals who came to view a display about the essence of Christmas at Sacred Heart Cathedral yesterday.

“Fiji is very different; everything looks so attractive and admirable,” Angiee said.

“I am with my mum and two brothers and we are enjoying almost everything; food, nature and most importantly being able to visit my family here,” she said.

Her mother Bernadette Suiqa, who is originally from Fiji, said she wanted something different for her children this Christmas.

“I am originally from Suva, but I have not been able to visit Fiji during the past four years,” Ms Suiqa said.

“I am a teacher, so this year, I decided to bring my children over,” she said.
