Christmas without Christ is meaningless, says female inmate of Suva Women’s Corrections Sovaia Maitoga, during the inmates’ Christmas carols singing at MHCC yesterday.

“This is the time of the year when there are a lot of festive activities and most people tend to forget the real meaning of Christmas,”Miss Maitoga said.

“My message for Christmas would be Christ in you, the hope for glory,” she said.

People crowded MHCC to share the joy and listen to carols sung by officers and inmates.

Alanieta Atu, who was part of the crowd, said, “I love the tune and even though I was in a rush to do my Christmas shopping, the singing and the message was a blessing,”Miss Atu said.

The inmates’ participation is part of the Yellow Ribbon Programme.
