A Chinese travel guide for Fiji has been produced by a local inbound travel operator that would help cater for the growing Chinese tourism market in the country.

Tour Managers Fiji launched Tour Managers 2015 Chinese Tour Guide yesterday at Raddison Blu Resort in Denarau on Monday night.

Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Koya said: “I congratulate Tour Managers for coming up with the idea and for the agencies and industry in coming together to contribute to this concept that has eventuated into a travel guide.

“China represents Fiji’s most important growth market for tourism in the coming years and that is why the Fijian Government is taking a decisive leadership role to get more Chinese visitors to our shores each year.”

“As an industry, we should be proud of this collaborative effort. The guide will make information about Fiji readily available to the Chinese traveler in their own language,” he added.

The guide contains key information for the Chinese visitors, includes history of Fiji, its geography, how to get around, accommodation options and attractions around Fiji.

Tour Managers managing director Damend Goundar said the project cost around $150,000.

“It took us six months and it was developed by the team in the office and then further edited by Global Travel in China,” said Mr Goundar. “This consolidates our stand as an inbound operator in Fiji and our support to the Tourism Fiji.”
