Westpac And HFC To Provide Banking Service At Nadi Airport

Westpac Fiji and HFC Bank have teamed up and confirm winning the Airports Fiji Limited to provide a suite of banking services at the Nadi International Airport from mid 2015.

HFC Bank is co-financing the provision of a world class banking experience for customers at the busy airport where tourist arrivals and departures to Fiji exceed 850,000 annually.

Westpac will have a full service retail branch in the International Arrivals Commercial concourse Foreign Exchange booths in International Arrivals Baggage hall.

Additionally, a Foreign Exchange booth will be made available at the International Departures Lounge.

Westpac’s retail presence at the airport will be Westpac-branded, will operate on Westpac systems and platforms and will be managed by the bank’s local employees.

“We were pleased to submit this tender in partnership with HFC Bank, combining Westpac Fiji’s strength, size and expertise with HFC’s reach as a bank that’s 100 per cent owned by Fijian people,” Westpac Fiji acting general manager Nirosh Weerasinghe.

“It’s terrific to have HFC’s support as we provide passengers arriving to Nadi International Airport with access to an internationally recognised brand to meet their banking and foreign exchange needs.

“We’re also pleased that customers have the comfortof Westpac’s worldwide acceptance of international cards including China Union Pay.

HFC Bank chief executive Isikeli Tikoduadua said: “We are quite proud and honoured to be in partnership with Westpac for the outlets.

“This collaboration not only blends the local and international banks but for us at HFC; provides equal returns to our shareholders which are the people of Fiji,” he added.

Mr Tikoduadua was certain this partnership would bring much awaited advanced 24/7 service for the international banking customers. He also thanked AFL board for considering the joint proposal.
