Despite a lot of movements during the Christmas holidays there were no major incidents reported says director traffic Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahesh Mishra.

He said this was part of standard Police procedure to ensure security in the community and keep the peace.

“We are focusing on residential areas, villages, towns, picnic spots and places where a lot of gatherings are taking place,” SSP Mishra said.

He said they wanted to ensure that the safety of people was not compromised.

“We know that a number of activities are taking place during the Christmas holidays and Police patrol is very important to ensure that all members of the community enjoy their holidays.”

He said normal patrols were carried out with regular rounds made by officers.

“We are requesting the public to report any crime they witness to their nearest Police stations.”

SSP Mishra said they would continue to be vigilant throughout the New Year till mid January.
