Fijian Seremaia Bai’s Leicester Tigers escaped with a close 32-30 victory over Sale Sharks during their latest Aviva Premiership game last weekend.

As reported by The Telegraph, Bai who had been out with injury since the opening day of the season, led his side scoring the first try for Leicester in reply to Chris Cusiter’s opening try for Sale.

Danny Cipriani kicked a penalty for Sale to gain a temporary lead before Matthew Tait scored and Freddie Burns kicked the conversion to put Leicester back in the lead 12-8.

Will Addison pushed Sale ahead with a successful conversion by Cipriani before burns kicked the equalising penalty to put the score at 15-15. Cipriani followed shortly with another penalty before converting a try by Nathan Hines, Sammy Tuitupou scoring another try to extend Sale’s lead 30-15 at halftime.

Leicester bounced back in the second half with Miles Benjamin scoring followed by a successful conversion from Burns. Burns’ replacement Owen Williams came on to kick a penalty through before Julian Salvi scored the equaliser, Leicester Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill applauded his gang of substitutes for overturning a Sale team inspired by scrum-half Chris Cusiter, who scored the first of his team’s four tries.

Scoreboard: Leicester: Tries-Bai, Tait, Benjamin, Salvi; Conversions-Burns (2), Williams; Penalties-Burns, Williams.

Sale: Tries-Cusiter, Addison, Hines, Tuitupou; Conversions-Cipriani (2); Penalties-Cipriani (2).
