The Navosa Netball Association will be looking to elect a new president during their annual general meeting next month.

Current president Judy Kumar confirmed the change in leadership when speaking to SUNsports yesterday.

“A new president will be elected in the AGM as I have served my six-year term as president and I would like to become a Life Member of NNA due to work commitments,” he said.

Kumar elaborated on other issues that would be discussed during the AGM including development and clinics for affiliated clubs.

“So on the AGM agenda, we will discuss about grassroots level development as well as development teams for Navosa and a senior team as well. We also want to get all clubs and interested schools to participate in all clinics next year.

“We’re also looking to make sure that all clubs within our vicinity become affiliated with the association. Clubs need to affiliate to Navosa if they want to their expose players to Netball Fiji’s sanctioned competition. We will not consider any clubs who are not affiliated with us.”

Kumar said they have plans to secure more sponsorship in addition to a recently signed deal with Coastline Transport.

“The budget for Navosa is $3000 per year and we would like to secure a sponsorship to maintain our upcoming players. We would also like to thank Coastline Transport for donating Navosa Netball’s uniforms for the Super League competition.

“Today (yesterday), we just received another sponsorship from Ritesh Singh of New Zealand providing two sets of uniforms for the two Under-21 teams.

“Ritesh Singh is originally from Nabitu, Navosa but lives in New Zealand and we are proud that he will sponsor us for the next three years. I thank God for making this happen and Navosa is now ready for 2015.”

The Navosa Netball Association AGM will be on January 29 at the Navosa Police Station Bure.
