First-time mother Makelesi Dobui did not expect the New Year to begin with the birth of her daughter.

The twenty-four-year-old who was supposed to give birth later this month, said her bundle of joy arrived early.

“I was very scared and I was not prepared for it at all,” shje said.

“During my last clinic, they told me that I would be expecting to give birth by the 14th of this month.

“But I started to feel pain on Tuesday and by Wednesday my husband took me to the hospital,” she said.

“I am truly blessed to have her in my life, especially something positive to start my 2015 with my new family.

“My husband and I are looking forward to taking her home and we are both just excited about taking her to her new home,” Mrs Dobui said.

Weighing 3.36 kilogramme, baby Kasanita Dobui was welcomed to this world at 6:40am yesterday.

“At the moment we want to surprise our parents at home. They still don’t know that I have given birth and we can’t wait to see their reaction.

“This has been a very memorable day for me and my new family and we look forward to a positive 2015,” Mrs Dobui said.
