Water, Vehicle Warning

New Year revellers have been warned not to throw water onto vehicles.

Land Transport Authority chief executive officer Naisa Tuinaceva said such behaviour was too dangerous and offenders would be taken to task.

“People need to refrain from doing this because it is far too dangerous and because the vehicle is moving and drivers are not aware of it,” he said.

“It is New Year and people have to celebrate it the proper way and not throw water onto moving vehicles.” he added.

He cautioned people to take all possible measures to avoid accidents and fatalities for the new year.

“Police officers are taking actions to try and restrain this issue and therefore people are to celebrate New Year responsibly,” said Mr Tuinaceva.

“People may think that throwing water on vehicles is fun but it’s not.”
