Consort Shipping On The Move

The management of Consort Shipping Company Limited is confident of a fruitful year.

Consort Shipping manager finance and corporate Adrial Prasad said improving their trucking services to the Northern Division is their main objective. “Our objective remains from last year but since we are diversifying to our trucking business, we want to improve on this and our main emphasis is to better the logistics,” Mr Prasad said.

The company is still without a vessel eventhough they are still transporting goods and services to and from the islands using other transport providers.

The company’s lone vessel, Spirit of the Fiji Islands (SOFI) was sold after she ran aground in March 2013 in Koro.

However, Mr Prasad said they are looking at bringing in their new vessel this year although no finer details were provided.

“The company is optimistic of a more fruitful year of acquiring our new vessel,” he said.

Consort Shipping through its trucking business provides services to the people of Savusavu, Taveuni, Labasa and Koro Island.

The company has been providing passenger and freight services since 1986 linking the country’s major islands.
