Pita Wise: No Immediate Plans

The former Permanent Secretary for Strategic Development, National Planning and Statistics Pita Wise, does not have any immediate plans.

Mr Wise in confirming this yesterday said he was currently on leave after his contract term expired on December 31, 2014.

“I have completed my term as the Permanent Secretary and currently working on some reports and handing it over to the Finance Ministry right now,” he said.

Mr Wise said he did not have any plans as of now but was open to new opportunities out in the market.

“I think I might go down to my village in Savusavu and spend maybe a month or two there,” he said.

“I want to go home and spend some time with my family before deciding my next step.

“Maybe I would see how I can develop our mataqali land back home.”

Mr Wise has dedicated almost 20 years of his service to Government and says he has a lot of fond memories to take with him.

“I have had a lot of experience; I have been through the country’s struggles during the coups and had supported the Government all throughout,” he said.

“We have always worked hard in helping the economy move forward and I guess leaving is never easy.”

Mr Wise thanked the Government for their efforts in taking the country to great heights.

“I am very thankful for the Government and the Prime Minister for providing me with an opportunity to work with them,” he said.

“It has been a great experience working in the planning department because it has provided me with great exposure.”
