More than 1,000 delegates from 45 countries will participate in the three-day ‘Partnership Summit’ in Jaipur, India, being attended by two top Fijian ministers.

The summit has the theme ‘Partnerships for Shared New Realities’. It will be inaugurated on Thursday by Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajasthan state Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Attorney-General and Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Industry, Trade and Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya are going at the invitation of the Indian Government.

World Trade Organisation Director General Roberto Azevedo and World Intellectual Property Organization Director General Francis Gurry will be among the top representatives of multilateral organisations.

The summit is an annual event of the Chamber of Indian Industry and is organised in association with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The chamber said in a statement: “It is a platform that would enable close examination of the partnerships and synergies that will spark the next phase of global growth and develop strong multi-country linkages and networks to assist the transformation of the global economy.”

It said that Rajasthan is an important place to organise such summits as it attracts one third of the tourists coming into India and a prosperous textile industry is present there.
