Former Fiji and Ba football star striker Akuila Rova believes the Fiji Football Association practices fair play and does not take sides.

The US-based Rova brushed aside claims made on social media that Ba Football Association has been always being favoured by Fiji FA.

“I disagree, I think Fiji Football supports all the team equally,” Rova said.

“I believe just because Ba are always being a champion side and people assume that they are getting a lot of support from Fiji Football, which is not.”

The Ba Football team have won a record of 17 titles, which is yet to be equalled by any other association in the country.

Lately, the side have not been performing well and this has led to the appointment of Shalen Lal as their new coach after Yogendra Dutt left in July, last year.

Rova said he hopes the appointment would enable Ba to rise to another level.

“I want to congratulate them for making it to the O-League once again.  I follow their progress really closely through the media.”

Rova has formed the Seattle Ba FC team, which has former Rewa striker Kamal Hassan.
