The Suva Cricket Association got back underway for the A-grade competition on January 3, while the premier league continued last Saturday.

It’s a new look competition after the break with Punjabi Tigers and Covenant Brothers being promoted to the premier league after finishing in the top two A-Grade positions .

On the other hand demoted clubs Sarafui and Ono-i-Lau are now more determined to fightback and claim their spots.

So far the Tigers have been impressive, leading the premier league on 23.5 points, with last season’s winners Yadrana following closely on 22 points. Komo (15), Moce 2 (14), Army (9.5), BSP Titans (8.5) and Covenant Bros (7.5), with VICC on 5.

In the A-Grade, Give me the Mountain currently lead the competition after two weeks on 44 points. Ono-i-Lau have shown early promise after relegation to be in second spot with 43. Third place is Oneata on 35.5, followed by BSP Warriors (30), Nasaqalau (28),  Moce 1 (27.5), SGOS (17), Police (13.5) and Sarafui (11.5) with Heilala rounding out the competition on -8.

This Saturday’s draws:

Albert Park (1)

8am- Moce 1 v GMTM; 11am- Yadrana v Punjabi Tigers; 2pm Army v Moce 2

Albert Park (2)

8am- Ono-i-Lau v Oneata; 11am- Komo v VICC; 2pm BSP Titans v Covenant Bros

FSCG-LBE

8am- Sarafui v BSP Warriors; 11am Heilala v Police; 2pm Nasaqalau v SGOB.
