China Firms Police Help

The Fiji Police Force has been promised continued support from China.

Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Huang Yong made the revelation when the Commissioner of Police, Bernardus Groenewald paid him a farewell courtesy call yesterday.

The Commissioner of Police praised Mr Huang for his involvement in strengthening the security co-operation between Fiji Police and the Ministry of Public Security in China that was formalised in 2011.

Mr Groenewald said he looked forward with optimism to continue this goodwill with Mr  Huang’s successor.

The outgoing Chinese Ambassador assured of continued support for the Fiji Police in capacity building, capability assistance and other forms of exchanges being hallmarks of the co-operation arrangement.
