New Traffic Lights Expected Soon

The Fiji Roads Authority is urging drivers and pedestrians to follow the road safety rules when traffic lights are not working.

Currently the lights on Escort Street and Macarthur Street are not functioning.

Authority chief executive officer Neil Cook said: “the reason the traffic lights are not working because there is a faulty circuit board in it.

“We are getting a replacement from overseas that will take a few days.

“We also expect it to be rectified within the next few days.

“During this time the intersection is uncontrolled and as such the normal give way road rules apply.

“Drivers are encouraged to approach cautiously and be courteous to fellow motorists and pedestrians”, Mr Cook said.
