It is not going to be easy but when you look at your child’s face, it just gives you strength to walk on walk strong, says Aliya Raza.

She is the mother of Inshirah Raza, who was diagnosed with liver tumour when she was four months old.

They were at the monthly birthday celebration organised by the Walk On Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids Fiji at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva on Wednesday.

“I’m thankful for the Parents Support Group where we come together every month to share, learn and understand each other’s sorrow,” Mrs Raza said.

She said Inshirah recently had a surgery in New Zealand and she visited the hospital for her monthly blood check-ups.

“When we first learned about Inshirah, we could not hold back our tears, but my husband Mohammed Sadiq and I know and understand that we have to be strong for her.”

Mrs Raza said Inshirah, who is two years-old, loved spending time with her four year-old brother and was a cheerful child.

She advises parents to have a positive attitude and always have faith.

Parent Support Group president Suman Lata said they were thankful to WOWS Kids Fiji and the Fiji Cancer Society for their support.

Meanwhile, she said the WOWS Kids Fiji’s Resource Centre would officially open early next month.
