Reinforcement Agencies Urged To Work Together

Calls have been made for all reinforcement agencies to continue to strengthen ties for protection in border security.

During the World Customs Day celebrations, Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority chief executive, Jitoko Tikolevu, stressed: “Police cannot work alone, Customs cannot work alone and Biosecurity cannot work alone.

“It is very important for us to re-engage and join forces and work together to combat illegal activities.”

Mr Tikolevu mentioned with the scarce resources, it was logical to maintain the ties that have been developed over the years.

“Recognising the fact there are always limited resources, it is vital we continue to work together with all reinforcement agencies otherwise we are very vulnerable,” he added.

The theme of the World Customs Day was to emphasise on the fact that it was very vital to continue to work together as this is an enforced from the World Customs Organisation.
