Steelers Stomp Waiyavi Bulls

The City Steelers beat Waiyavi Bulls 27-5 in Round Two of the BLK Lautoka Rugby Union franchise competition at Churchill Park last Saturday.

The Steelers, made up of players from Namoli Village and Vunato,   defeated Bulls 19-12 in the first round two weeks ago.

“We had only one week to form the team for the competition but we did executed our game plans very well so far,”Steelers technical advisor Moape Koroi said.

Tries were scored by wing Ilaisa Baqa, Inoke Sadrugu, Josua Satala, while flyhalf Sireli Satala kicked 11 points from three penalties and a conversion.

“The postponement of last week’s match was to our advantage.”

Lautoka Rugby interim president Joji Satala praised the level of the competition.

“All teams are stepping up and it’s a good sign.”

The Vuda Gaints – Yasawa Ambassadors match will be played this week after a death in Viseisei Village over the weekend.
