2 Families Lose Homes In Fire

Two families are homeless following separate fire incidents on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said “The first incident occurred at Naivicula Village in Wainibuka, Tailevu, where a home belonging to a 31-year-old farmer was destroyed by fire.

“The estimated cost of the damage is $3000,” Ms Naisoro said.

She said the second incident was reported at Digiyaga Settlement in Dreketi, Vanua Levu, where a home belonging to a 65-year-old labourer was completely destroyed.

“The house was vacant at the time of the incident and the estimated cost of the damage is $20,000,”she said.

Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of fire in both incidents.
