A 38-year-old Australian citizen appeared again at the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday.

The accused, Ethan Kai, is charged with one count of failing to declare foreign currency and appeared before Magistrate Saimoni Turaga.

He allegedly failed to declare foreign currencies amounting to $28,870.95 at the Nadi International Airport.

His defence lawyer Aman Singh requested the court to adjourn the case to finalise disclosures.

Meanwhile, the accused, Kai, had also been charged with one count of unlawful importation of illicit drugs contrary to Section 4 (1) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act.

This is in relation to the $30-million drug bust in Lautoka last month.

He has been remanded at the Natabua Corrections Centre and Kai will re-appear on February 23 at the Nadi Magistrates Court.

He will also appear at the High Court in Lautoka on February 4 on his drug-related charges.
