The Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) International Church plans to complete construction of a fully-fledged secondary school by 2017.

The project will cost at least $6.5 million.

The church opened its secondary school on Monday for Year Nine students only.

Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy opened the school. Church vice-president, Pastor Emosi Toroca said their goal was to open the extension on a separate site at Tacirua East in Nasinu in 2017.

“The church has already committed $500,000 both for the land purchase and earth works on the site,” Mr Toroca said.

He said a plan for the school had already been drawn.

“The school is planned to have four streams of Year Nine to Year 12 and two streams of Year 13. There will be laboratories, special classrooms for technical vocational education training (TVET), a school hall, offices, a canteen, a library and computer laboratory.”

Mr Toroca said they looked forward to the Ministry of Education for funding and assisting them in obtaining funds from funding agencies.
