Dormitory Helps Rural, Maritime Students

The new dormitory opened by the Prime Minister, Vorere Bainimarama last Friday at Navuso, Naitasiri will help in the education of some rural and maritime students.

The dormitory is for Navuso Agricultural School and some Navuso Methodist High School students.

Navuso High school principal Joni Siliduadua said the dormitory also accommodated students from rural and outer islands.

“Most of the students who come to this school are from the islands and it is usually hard for them to stay at a relative’s home while studying,” Mr Siliduadua said.

“We are planning to revive the institution and that is to make it a full agriculture institution in which students from every part of Viti Levu who have passion in agriculture can come here to develop their skills,” he said.

Mr Siliduadua encouraged females to join the agriculture school.

“We have 85 students enrolled this year and I  encourage students who are still looking for schools to join us.”

First year agriculture student Poate Biutoka said the opening of the new dorm would help boost his learning.
