No Threat From Disturbances, Says Tuidraki

Fiji Meteorological Services acting director Aminiasi Tuidraki said there was no threat of a cyclone developing after tropical disturbances 08F and 09F were found slowly moving around Fiji.

The weather office had been closely monitoring the systems with Mr Tuidraki saying that the next 24 hours would determine what to expect.

“There is no threat to Fiji because it is going towards the South East towards Cook Islands, but it’s all active to the North, far North of Fiji,” Mr Tuidraki said.

Mr Tuidraki said although there were a lot of activities, there was not enough energy to really trigger it off or intensify to become a tropical cyclone.

“We are however urging people to take heed of the weather bulletins.”
