Nadi will do their best to honour the late Shalit Muni Reddy in the 2015 Galaxy Premier League match today.

Assistant coach Pranesh Amarsee revealed they had asked for the clash against Suva at Prince Charles Park to be postponed.

“Initially, we had wanted to postpone the game as a mark of respect for Shalit and his family,”Amarsee said.

“But the Fiji Football Association had given the directive that we have to play. However, they’ve done their best to accommodate us and shift the game time.

“The game was scheduled to start at 2pm but has been shifted to 3pm so that we could attend the funeral at 1pm.

“His loss has deeply affected all of us and is something the boys feel very personally. He was someone’s son, someone’s brother and he was a Nadi Youth soccer player with a very bright future ahead of him.

“His death is still very shocking to us and we’re still trying to come to terms with this terrible news. We will be attending his funeral before we go for the game and we’re just going to go out on the field and do our best as well as honour his memory.”

Nadi will host Suva at Prince Charles Park at 3pm while Rewa host Ba at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori and Nadroga hosts Tailevu Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Meanwhile, Labasa won their second game of the Premier League in Subrail Park yesterday defeating Lautoka 2-1.
