Dixon Seeto described his brother Holland as a “true kaiviti” and a jovial person.

“Our brother was a very generous man; his language is always rather colourful and can be saucy, but he gets it back as good as he gives, especially from his family and friends,” Mr Seeto told the many friends and families who attended the funeral of his brother.

“We all know how language is an important competency of an all rounder businessman in Fiji. He was truly integrated in the cultures of Fiji.”

The late Holland Seeto, Lees Trading chief executive officer, was allegedly murdered last Thursday inside his office at Laucala Beach Estate in Suva.

Also present among the hundreds of mourners who gathered at the Chinese Cemetery in Suva yesterday was the Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Public Service and Public Enterprise, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum. Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the late Mr Seeto would be missed a lot by the business fraternity in Fiji.

“Mr Seeto, obviously will be missed by his family and even his business associates.

“He was somebody who fitted in really well and a gregarious type of character. He will be missed by all who know him,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

He said Mr Seeto was with Lees Trading Company for nearly 38 years and was a significant contributor to the company. “Apart from the fact that he was very loyal, he saw Lees as the company which grew from a very small company to quite a formidable company that has produced a whole range of products.”

Mr Seeto is survived by his wife, Vuli and their two children, Conrad and Bernice.
