Nadroga 1: Tomasi Tuicakau (30’); Tailevu/Naitasiri 1: Keni Doidoi (80’).

Veteran Keni Doidoi was the hero for the Tailevu/Naitasiri team yesterday. This was after he saved them from defeat against Nadroga at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

What happened:

Referee Andrew Achari awarded a penalty to Nadroga in the 30th minute after Don Raj was fouled.

Striker Tomasi Tuicakau drew first blood.

Halftime: Nadroga 1-0 Tailevu/Naitasiri

In the second-half both teams played a defensive game.

It was in the 80th minute that Keni Doidoi scored the equaliser.

Star turn: Keni Doidoi of Tailevu/Naitasiri impressed the crowd with his skill.

Big plus: Don Raj and Tuicakau played well for the host.

Comments: Nadroga coach Joseph Nand said; “I’m very disappointed with the performance. We missed a lot of chances and we have to work hard at training.

Tailevu/Naitasiri coach Abdul Zaman said: “I am happy with our performance and we need to continue improving.
