An aspiring female pilot commends her new role as headgirl saying it would help pave the way to fulfilling her dream.

Varanisese Nukunawa, 12 was yesterday inducted as headgirl of Nabua Primary School during their prefect investiture ceremony at the school.

Close to 30 class and school prefects were presented with their badge.

Varanisese said the appointment came as a surprise but she was grateful because it would be a motivation for her.

“It’s a good feeling getting this badge and a challenging one also. I want to become a pilot and this is a stepping stone in achieving that,” Varanisese said.

“This is because pilots are leaders in their own profession because the lives of their passengers are in their hands.”

She believes her confidence was a contributing factor that made the teachers appoint her for the role.

Meanwhile, headboy Ratu Isoa Rokotuinaceva is excited about the new role.

“I am ready to face and overcome the challenges that will come my way and lead the students in my school.”
