Students should behave well not only with their teachers but with other students says Gabriela Kado of Yat Sen Primary School in Suva.

The 12-year-old made the comment yesterday after she was honoured with the headgirl’s badge during their prefects’ induction ceremony.

“I’m really happy and nervous at the same time because this badge comes with a lot of responsibilities,” Gabriela said.

She said students must obey the school rules to maintain order and set good examples to others.

School’s headboy Temafa Yalimaiwai, 13, said he was happy and excited.

“The badge signifies responsibility and leadership; to influence peers towards doing the right thing at the right time,” Temafa said.

He said he wanted to work with other students to maintain discipline in the school.

“I want to become a good role model and help other students in their times of needs.”

Meanwhile, Sidhh Chauhan, 12, was happy to receive a prefect’s badge.

“The badge means a lot to me and I want to give my best to meet the school’s expectations,” Sidhh said.
