Eleven New Caledonian swimmers competed in the 2015 Fiji Swimming First Grand Prix at the Damodar National Aquatic Centre in Suva yesterday.

Among them was France international Emma Terebo.

Coach Botrel Alan said the competition prepared them for the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.

“It was a very competitive and positive for us as we want to maintain consistency in the pool at the Pacific Games,”Alan said.

“We trained three hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon and we also do some gym work.

“All these swimmers will be gunning for gold at the Pacific Games.”

Alan believes Fiji have young swimmers who are quite competitive.

“Team Fiji could produce a good team in PNG because they have a lot of young players who are fit.”

Fiji Swimming media liaison officer Bulou Rokomasi Rabua applauded the participants.

“A lot of outstanding performances especially by Rosemary Rova who created a new 400 Individual Medley record,” Rabua said.
