Rotuma Hospital Work Continues

Work at the new Rotuma Hospital has continued with the arrival of an advance team from the Republic of Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers.

RFMF Land Force Commander Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho said the advance team went on a barge with machines and equipment for the new hospital. The machines would be used to clear the site for the new hospital.

The team had started with the construction of the administration block, which will also have the hospital kitchen and the mortuary.

Another team will leave for Rotuma soon.

Work at the hospital started last December soon after the ground-breaking ceremony by the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Jioji Konrote.

The contract had been awarded to the RFMF Engineers.

Engineers commanding offficer Lieutenant- Colonel Semi Mocelutu confirmed that Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) Inia Rarawa woud lead the work at the Rotuma Hospital.
