Nadroga’s Gerard Voi scored in the 5th minute to beat Lautoka in the Rewa Galaxy Premier League at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

And three players Simione Damuni, Isikeli Jeke and Peni Finau were sent off in the second half for dangerous play.

What happened:

The slippery condition made it difficult for the players.

Nadroga’s goalkeeper Sakeo Taganeca played a lead role in preventing the Blues from scoring.

Voi, Damuni, Mohd Tasleem, Martin Nasova of Nadroga and Peni Finau of Lautoka were cautioned in the first half.

Halftime: Nadroga 1 – 0 Lautoka

Diven Don Raj of Nadroga scored in the 63rd minute  but the goal was not awarded  which disappointed the Nadroga fans.

Isikeli Jeke of Lautoka was red carded in the 89th minute for a dangerous tackle and minutes later Damuni of Nadroga and Peni Finau of Lautoka were sent off after getting their second yellow cards.

Star play: Sakeo Taganeca made some great saves.

Big play: Voi played well upfront for Nadroga.

Comments:

Nadroga coach Joseph Nand: “I’m satisfied with the win. We need to work on our defence before we play Ba in our next game.

“I’m pleading to Nadroga fans to come and support the team. We beat Ba during the Courts IDC last year and if can beat Lautoka at home, we can also beat the ‘Men in Black.”

Lautoka media officer Abdul Kadir: The better team won. We need to get things right at training before we play our next game against Tailevu/Naitasiri.
