Primary and high school students in the Sawani area in Nausori will soon be able to have internet services.

This was confirmed by Sawani Primary School chairman and the Commander of Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga after the opening of the school’s computer lab yesterday.

This occurred with the installation of 10 new computers donated by Bank South Pacific (BSP) with 10 more computers to arrive next week.

“Once the school’s internet connectivity is set, we will be opening the computer lab for the students from 3.30 in the afternoon,” said Brigadier-General Tikoitoga.

“This will enable them to do their research projects and get their assignments done on time and nearer to their homes.

“This would save students time and travelling expense.

Meanwhile the Commander said officials in the Government should involve themselves in school projects.

“There have been Government officials in the past that have given advice which is always easy, but they should come down from the comfort zones and assist with their school,” he said.

“That is how I came to know about the difficulties faced by the students of the Sawani area.

“With Government’s assistance, the school now has an additional library, kindergarten, one new classroom, two new teachers’ cottages and a new computer lab.

“These are all part of the schools ongoing renovation and development programme to enhance the school with proper facilities for the students of this area,” Brigadier-General Tikoitoga said.
