Telecom Fiji Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula says players will have to prove themselves to be in the final 30-member team.

Seruvakula aims to select a strong team for the World Rugby Pacific Challenge to be played at the ANZ Stadium on March 10-23.

The six teams taking part are Fiji, Tonga A, Samoa A, Japan Juniors, Argentina PAMPAS XV and Canada A.

He will select 35 players today during the trials at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

“I’m looking forward to select a good team,” Seruvakula said.

The Nasautoka, Wainibuka, Tailevu native has high expectations of local players.

“I will select the team based on their fitness and players should prove themselves.

“Fiji will be hosting the Pacific Challenge so we have to prepare the best and for the best.”

The Pacific Challenge (formerly known as the Pacific Rugby Cup) will provide a great platform for local players to put their hands up for Rugby World Cup 2015 selection.

Telecom Fiji Warriors will go into camp on Monday.
