Ten lucky students who were part of the 2014 Crest Chicken Cool stuff for Schools Cultural Exchange Programme shared their experience yesterday.

The students with two chaperones were selected from schools registered with the programme to visit Melbourne, Australia.

The group participated in activities organised on a daily basis that included school visits, class participation and cultural and heritage site visits.

Ayesha Dean of Sangam SKM College, Nadi, said the visit had broadened her knowledge about Australia.

“We had grown a lot during the course of the trip. It was very educational, visiting sites and meeting people,” Dean said.

Mereani Kanadroka of Nausori High School said she enjoyed visiting the zoo.

“The Melbourne Zoo was beautiful. We got to see different kinds of animals for the first time, I really enjoyed it,” Kanadroka said.

Chaperone, Veronika Vanuaca said she was fortunate to have been chosen and thanked the Ministry of Education and Goodman Fielder for appointing her.

“The crest cultural exchange programme presented itself as a great way to learn about the people in other parts of the world and how they live,” Vanuaca said.
