What happened:

The Nadi jetsetters disappointed more than 700 Labasa soccer fans  at  Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

This was after they edged the Babasiga Lions 1-0 in another round of the Rewa Galaxy Premier League.

The Nadi boys were so persistent in attack in the first spell but the Lions were strong in defence.

In the 37th minute Labasa goalkeeper made a defensive blunder in the box that resulted in a goal by Jolame Vukivuki. Nadi showed superb attacking and defensive soccer skills.Referee Salesh Chand flashed two yellow cards in the first half.

Halftime: Nadi 1-0 Labasa

In the second-half, Posiano Kalisito, Ilisoni Logaivau and Krishneel Krishna tried hard but the Nadi defence was too strong.

Referee Salesh Chand flashed three yellow cards in the second half.

Star turn: Pita Bolaitoga showed superb leadership skills in controlling the team in the second-half.

Big play: Nadi goalkeeper Alifereti Dickson made good saves.

Nadi coach Kamal Swamy said; “I’m quite happy with our performance and especially winning in Labasa.  Labasa is one of the tough teams to beat and we’re happy we got three points.

Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy said; “We are very disappointed because we had a lot of chances which we did not capitalise on.”
