Suva started off on a high note as Ravinesh Singh scored in the 9th minute after chipping the ball past Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau to lead 1-0.

Rewa’s Simione Maikali was the yellow card in the 63rd minute with a foul on Sakaraia Naisua. In the 75th minute, Maikali was awarded a red card for dangerous play. In the dying minutes, Rewa fought desperately to score but Suva held on till the very end.

Star turn: Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau made good saves.

Big play: Suva stepped up in in defence and stayed focussed.

Comments:

Rewa coach Marika Rodu, “We are still not up to par and this is our fourth game we have lost. There are a lot of problems that we need to address and we need a few more games to settle down. But all we can do is learn from the positive outcomes of this game.”

Fortech Construction Suva coach Gurjeet Singh, “This was a very important win for us considering we haven’t won the last couple of games.

The boys understood that this was a do or die situation and now we are focusing on preparing for Ba which will be a tough game.”
