His mother’s leadership role as the Secretary-General to Parliament is what encourages Keni Namosimalua to strive for greater things in school.

Keni, 18 credited his mother, Viniana Namosimalua’s encouragement with helping him achieve his leadership roles in school.

Keni was yesterday inducted the deputy headboy for Queen Victoria School during the prefects induction ceremony at the school’s chapel at Matavatucou in Tailevu yesterday.

He said his mother had been his greatest role model.

“In terms of her leadership I have learned a lot and I hope that everything she has taught me I will be able to apply this year,” Keni said.

“To me this is truly a blessing and I know this will be a big challenge for me but I know if God is going to be the captain of this ship then this will be a good year for QVS.”

Mrs Namosimalua has promised her full support to her son and said she was proud, humble and honoured about his achievement.

“It’s a testimony of God’s goodness and also an opportunity for him to practice the values he’s being taught at home,” Mrs Namosimalua said.

“He’s an excellent child always willing to hear out what we say as parents and he has come out at the top.”
