Lands Ministry Trials New Procedures

The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources has drafted its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The SOPs are written instructions or steps for carrying out routine operations.

Minister for Lands Mereseini Vuniwaqa said the draft would be on trial from this Thursday for a period of three months.

“The trial period will allow us to see whether it is working well or not; it also gives us an opportunity to address those areas of the SOPs that may not be so conducive to customer service,” Ms Vuniwaqa said.

She said they hoped to launch the final SOPs after the three months.

“Then we would be able to tell our customers up front what timelines to expect on their applications made to the ministry,” she said.

She said she was very pleased with what they’ve achieved internally especially in the putting together the draft SOPs.
