The two accused persons in the $30 million heroin drug bust, Ethan Kai and Mohammed Shaheed Khan, will be taking a plea at the High Court in Lautoka next week.

An application for joint consolidation of information was made in court by DPP lawyer Semi Babitu before Justice De Silva, yesterday.

Kai’s lawyer, Aman Ravindra-Singh, objected the application but he was advised by Justice De Silva to have a read of the documents that had been provided and make the submission with more details to support his objection; which he will be able to make next week.

Mohammed Shaheed Khan’s lawyer Iqbal Khan was also told by Justice De Silva to make an application next week on their next appearance.

Khan and Kai are each charged with one count of illegal importation of illicit drugs in relation to the $30 million drug raid at the Port of Lautoka last year.

Both will reappear on February 26.
