Fiji Airways Staff Happy With Profit-share Bonus

Avishal Nair, a tradesman at Fiji Airways, is one of the 835 eligible non-management staff member who will receive $3000 profit-share bonus announced by the airline yesterday.

Mr Nair was overjoyed when the news was announced yesterday at the Fiji Airways Hangar in Nadi during its outgoing managing director/chief executive, Stefan Pichler’s farewell.

“I am very happy as I have worked very hard for it, especially the long nights we have worked,” he said.

“Mr Pichler was a good manager. It is going to be a big loss to let him go since he has done so much for this company,” the 23-year old said.

Anare Kapaiwai and William Young, Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, were really excited and proud about with pay-out announcement as well.

It was something they said they deserved for working hard and they are proud to be recognised for their work.

This pay-out is somewhat double to what they received last year which was $1400.

More profit by the company meant more bonuses for the staff members and the two are determined to work harder this year.

Mr Pichler was fare-welled yesterday before his 36-hour journey to Berlin.
