Former Flying Fijians rep Kameli Ratuvou will play for the Flying Fish in the 2015 Fiji Bitter Marist 7s this Friday.

Ratuvou said this was a way for him to give back to the community.

“I’m helping the Flying Fish rugby team and will also be playing for them to get some game time,” Ratuvou said.

“This is a way for me to give back to these boys in Tailevu where I learned my rugby. We’ve been training for three months preparing for the Marist 7s.”

Flying Fish team is made of players from Vunimono, Nadali and Nausori.

“There are many players in these areas that are unemployed and do not have good academic qualifications.

“We formed this rugby club earlier this year so that to bring all the boys together and play rugby,” he said.

Ratuvou reminded the players they needed to give the big teams a run for their money.

“We have been preparing well and we are not entering the competition just to make the numbers but to fight a good battle,” he said.

Flying Fish participated at the Rewa Delta 7s and Vunivaivai 7s in Nakelo yesterday.
