What happened?

The Rewa Galaxy Premier League match between Labasa and Ba ended in a scoreless draw at Subrail Park yesterday.

The game failed to live to expectations which disappointed the Babasiga Lions fans.

And to make matters worse, two players were red carded for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

The match saw both teams battle it out in front of more than 1000 soccer fans in Labasa. It was a tough match for both teams as they fought hard throughout the game to score.

In the 43rd minute Shamil Rao of Ba got a red card.

Halftime: Labasa 0-0 Ba

Referee Kritesh Prasad gave Taione Kerevanua a red card after dangerous play against a Ba player. Pressure intensified as both teams started making attempts at goal but failed.

The game was well controlled by the officials throughout the game..

Star turn:

Avinesh Waran Suwamy of Ba played a good game.

Big play

Both teams need to instil discipline after Shamil Rao and Taione Kerevanua were red carded.

Comments:

Ba coach Shalen Lal said, “The boys really played well especially playing away from home and we are happy with the draw.

“Our performance has improved compared to the last game against Suva.  We had chances to score but we were just unlucky. But I thank the boys with their great performance.”

Labasa coach Bal Reddy said, “I think we just unlucky and the boys defended well throughout the game.

“Overall it was a good game and looking forward for the next game.”
