Honesty and integrity is needed in this field, Fijian Corrections Service (FCS) chaplain, Reverend Josefa Tikonatabua told the recruits yesterday.

The message was part of his sermon during the service’s church service at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva yesterday.

“Self discipline is important because this will help you to carry out your role as an officer and be able to counter challenges that arise within, “Reverend Tikonatabua said.

“You will be able to help those who are under your care to become better people and make Fiji proud.”

Commissioner of Corrections Lieutenant-Colonel Ifereimi Vasu, in his speech, reminded the recruits of their roles.

“I believe the trainings and mentoring you have went through for the past few months will help you to perform to the best of your ability,”Colonel Vasu said.

“Let us continue to strive for the best when serving our people and be sure to offer as much help needed in order to help in building our Fiji.”

About 147 recruits, after months of training, will graduate on Friday at the Naboro Corrections Complex.
