Kapiti Looks To Expand Cheese Into Other Resorts

Kapiti Fine Foods Limited will be looking at expanding their network in cheese to the food industries in Fiji.

The company which is part of the big Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited in New Zealand, hopes to make an impact into the tourism industry.

Director export Clare Morgan said they have a variety of cheese they wish to introduce to more hotel industries.

She made these comments during a Wine Tasting event organised by Punjas which is the distributor of Fonterra products in Fiji.

“At the moment we are looking at food services especially when tourists come in and they have that particular cheese they want,” she said.

“With the Kapiti cheese products that is top of the range, we will be able to cater for them.”

Ms Morgan said they have successfully introduced the products to the market two years ago.

“We have managed to secure some supermarkets to sell our products thanks to Punjas for introducing this,” she said.

“So far, we have successfully been continuing this initiative for two years now and we hope to continue with this.”

Currently the Kapiti Group are working with hotels like Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa; InterContinental Fiji Resort & Spa and some other resorts in Fiji.

“We have had a lot of positive response from hotels about the cheese that we supply and we hope to expand this service to other resorts,” Ms Morgan said.
